GKS University Track deadlines by university

Of the 20 institutions, 19 have published their own 2027 schedule; the other 1 has only the dates NIIED published for them.

Confirmed

The university has published its own 2027 schedule — a notice, form or guide, linked in the row.

Tentative

The university has not published its own 2027 dates yet. The dates and methods are the ones NIIED published for it on 23 September in its University Track schedule; once the university's own notice is out, it prevails.

Dates move. Before you send anything, open the university's own document from the Source column — it overrides this page.

Confirmed rows first, each group sorted by the first date you have to meet. All dates are 2026, Korea time (KST). Where a university sets separate dates for an e-mailed or online copy and for paper documents, both are shown. Windows that have closed are marked.

A tentative row has only the dates NIIED published for that university on 23 September. Where a university has also published its own notice, the two have differed — a paper-documents deadline missing from NIIED's file, a different start date, a different way to submit — and the university's notice is what counts. The periods in NIIED's earlier overviews were further off, some by more than three weeks.

Almost every university that has confirmed its 2027 schedule wants paper documents delivered by its date, often alongside an e-mailed or online copy (KOREATECH takes e-mail, and asks only the applicants it invites to interview for originals, later). International post takes days, and the recommendation letter has to arrive sealed, so a delivery date is earlier than it looks. Finish the Personal Statement and Study Plan early enough to leave shipping time.

How to write the Study Plan and Personal Statement

Having your draft read by a professional editor

Ask your university writing centre first: it costs nothing and the staff know academic writing. If you would rather have a professional editor read your draft:

• Wordvice states that a first order placed through our link gets 10% off.
• Wordvice's published standard rate, September 2026: about US$23 per 1,000 words at a seven-day turnaround, and about US$104 for the same 1,000 words in 24 hours. The date you book decides the price, not the essay.
• They proofread admissions documents, including scholarship essays. They edit the words you wrote — nobody should write it for you.

UIC places are fixed per department in the 2027 guideline — 100 places across 20 departments at 13 institutions:

The Associate Degree programme's 30 places are not split by college. Its 9 colleges each list their departments in NIIED's University Information pack, attached to the 2027 notice.

Embassy result first

Embassy Track first-round results were due by October 16, 2026. If the embassy does not pass you, the guideline lets you apply once more through the University Track — but only where a window is still open. Rows flagged in the table end on or before that date.

One university, one department

You choose one programme (UIC or Associate Degree), one university and one department. Applying to more than one gets the application disregarded, and a scholarship found afterwards to rest on a duplicate application is cancelled.

Passed the embassy first round? This track is closed to you

Embassy Track applicants who passed the first round, backup candidates included, cannot apply through the University Track. Nobody may apply to both tracks at the same time.
