2027 GKS-U revision history

NIIED replaced the files after posting. The download link stays the same; the file behind it changes.

  1. Both files replaced (“0914”)Current
    • TOEFL iBT (old scale) for the 60% language-points band corrected from 42 to 44 or above (the Korean file already said 44).
    • Age: “born on or after 1 March 2002” (was “born after”).
    • Tuition: NIIED's KRW 5 million cap is now stated per semester.
    • English cover: the sentence saying the Korean text prevails was removed.
    • English file: the weekday is back in the TOPIK-certificate deadline, now “Friday, December 24, 2026”, though 24 December 2026 is a Thursday.
    • Korean file: first-round selection runs September to November (was September to October).
    • Korean file: renouncing after final selection bars reapplying for 3 years. The English file still says “in the future”.
    • Korean file: graduation certificates are due by 31 December 2026 (was “by a deadline NIIED sets”).
    • India contact: the English file went back to the Embassy, while the Korean file now names the Education Centre.
    • Korean file: Syria's 2 places are now 1 general + 1 R-GKS (was 2 general), matching the English.
    • Application forms re-posted as “2027 GKS-U Application Forms_0914.zip”.
    • Korean-file changes here are compared with the 10 September file. The 11 September Korean upload was not kept, so some may date from that day.

Questions

Where can I download the GKS 2027 guidelines PDF?

From NIIED's notice post on Study in Korea, where the English file is attached as “2027 GKS Application Guidelines (English) 0914.pdf” next to the Korean file and the forms. The Download buttons on this page open those attachments directly.

Are the 2027 GKS-G (graduate) guidelines out?

Not as of September 15, 2026. The last six graduate calls were posted between 24 January and 11 February. Until the 2027 call appears, the 2026 files are the latest graduate set.

How do I know I have the latest version?

The current English file ends in “0914.pdf” and is 1,411,051 bytes; the Korean file is 905,579 bytes. Both were replaced on September 14, 2026. Use the check on this page, or download again from the notice post.

The English and Korean guidelines differ. Which one counts?

The 2026 GKS-G English guideline says the Korean text prevails. The 2027 GKS-U English file said the same until September 14, 2026, when the sentence was removed, and the two files still differ on the reapplication ban after renouncing. Where they differ, ask the embassy or university you apply through.

Can I use the copy on my embassy's website?

Check it first. An embassy post keeps the file as it was on the day it was copied, and the 2027 English guideline was replaced twice after 9 September. Compare the file name and size with NIIED's post, or use the check above.
