What StudySunbae is
StudySunbae is built and maintained independently as a small, solo project. It is not affiliated with GKS, NIIED, Study in Korea, or the South Korean government, and it cannot make an eligibility or admissions decision.
Its job is narrower: turn dense scholarship guidance into a practical first check, then point applicants back to the source that controls the real decision.
How information is reviewed
- Original document
- NIIED or Study in Korea guidance takes priority over blogs, forums, summaries, and snippets.
- Rule vs. explanation
- Sourced requirements stay separate from practical, unofficial guidance.
- Date and corrections
- Cycle-sensitive pages show their source and Last verified date.
How the checker handles uncertainty
- One data source
- Source-backed GKS baseline values live in one place inside the project.
- Direct comparison
- Published GKS scales are compared directly against that baseline.

The calculation stays in your browser
GPA, age, TOPIK level, and the result are not stored in a StudySunbae database or sent to analytics. A shared result link can contain the inputs in its URL, so it should be treated as information you chose to share.
How this site is funded
StudySunbae is free and runs on display advertising, which is why you will see ads on this page, on the guides, and on the GPA checker. A few links to outside services are affiliate links: if you buy through one we are paid a commission, at no extra cost to you, and every such link says so where it appears. Advertisers have no influence on anything we publish: the GPA baseline, the conversion figures, and the list of GKS universities all come from published GKS sources, and no placement in them is for sale.
